REQUIRED DOCUMENTS DURING INTERVIEW (Kenya)
These are the documents you need to prepare. Label all documents and arrange them so it’s easy to find them during your interview. For other Embassies watch the DV Lottery winner’s experiences at the bottom of the page:
A. CIVIL DOCUMENTS PRINCIPAL DOCUMENTS
PRINCIPAL APPLICANT
· Birth certificate and copy.
· Academic documents: KCSE certificate and copy (Required). Higher education documents if any (if applicable).
· Police clearance certificate(PCC). It must be valid and not expired.
· Marriage certificate(church/Muslim/other religions and certified with a copy for each or AG certificate).
· Travel Passport (old and new if you recently renewed your passport).
· IOM medical certificate.
· Passport photos in color (2x2).
SPOUSE ( MARRIED STATUS)
· Birth certificate and copy.
· KCSE and copy (NOT A MUST).
· Police clearance certificate(PCC). It must be valid and not expired.
· Marriage certificate (copy of church/Muslim/other religions and copy of certified or AG certificate).
· Travel Passport (old and new if you recently renewed your passport).
· IOM medical certificate.
· Passport photos in color (2x2).
CHILDREN
· Birth certificate and copy.
· KCSE certificate and copy (NOT A MUST ) if between 18 and 20 years old.
· Police clearance certificate and copy (for 16 years and above).
· IOM medical certificate.
· Travel Passport (both old and new).
· IOM medical certificate.
· Passport photos in color (2x2).
B. NOTIFICATION LETTERS
· 1NL ( Letter you receive after checking results that confirm you won. It has a case number).
· 2NL ( Letter that shows next steps including interview details and required documentation).
· DS 260 (Confirmation page you received after submitting your DS 260)
C. HOST DOCUMENTS
· I 134/I 864 Affidavit of Support (For DV Lottery Winners. I-134 will suffice, this is not legally binding. Please note that I-864 is legally binding). The USA sponsor can download, complete, sign, and send this form to the principal applicant.
· IRS Transcripts (Tax documents from the sponsor in the USA. They must be Legal permanent residents or Citizens who file taxes). They need to meet poverty guidelines. Please see the guidelines here https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees/poverty-guidelines
· Copy if LPR or US passport bio page data or Naturalization.
D. OTHERS:
. Military personnel: Certificate Individual cases for those in the Military, you must bring along your Military records.
. If you have ever been deported, include the deportation paperwork.
. All documents in languages other than English must be translated into English.
. If you changed your name or go by different names obtain a sworn name affidavit reflecting the name change.
CHILDREN OF SINGLE PARENTS
. Notarized Travel consent letter and copy of ID: Consent showing that the other parent agrees to you immigrating with the child to the US.
. Sole custody court paperwork. If not traveling with the other parent.
OTHER MARITAL STATUS:
. Divorced or separated: proof of court-issued documents would be required.
. If widowed: A death certificate.
REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS/MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS
FOR IMMIGRANT VISAS ABROAD
Panel physicians provide immigration medical examinations required as part of visa processing at a U.S. Embassy or consulate abroad, and cannot perform examinations for applicants applying for adjustment of status with USCIS. For adjustment of status, a civil surgeon is designated by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to conduct medical examinations of immigrants applying for green cards within the USA.
